Stay a little longer. There’s so much to do you’ll want to plan a longer stay.
Carmel Beach is a spectacular white sand beach with views of Point Lobos State Reserve and the Pebble Golf Course. The slope is gentle so swimming is available and the surf is good too (wetsuit suggested). Dogs may run off-leash here and bonfires are allowed in specified areas which is a great family activity. Get a picnic and wine at a local market and enjoy the sunset over the Pacific. Carmel River State Beach is also close by.
Carmel is great for a girls-get-away with abundant local spas to pamper you or to rest from a day of shopping or golfing. Nail care, massage, and skin care are available near your accommodations.
There are tours for every interest. You can go on a walking tour around Carmel-by-the-Sea or a driving tour of Big Sur, wine tasting venues, or the agricultural fields of the Salinas Valley. There is also a bus tour which takes you to the sites of movies filmed on the Monterey Peninsula such as National Velvet, Play Misty for Me, and hundreds of others.
